Artist Info:

Nathan Taves has been an active artist since his late teens. His first profession was a cartographer for the engineering department for the city of Fort Wayne. From 1996 to 2015, he co-owned BitterSweet Gifts in Fort Wayne. In 2007, he co-authored a book with his husband, Don Jennings, titled Slag & Marble Glass, The Prominent Years, 1959-1985.

Nathan’s concepts of a landscape goes beyond scenes of mountain vistas and into a wider definition where landscapes expand, bend, and sometimes curl into other dimensions. He draws loosely from the concepts of flexibility of space and restructures the landscape dimensions. Each painting becomes a landscape of landscapes.

Heather Miller works as an artist and a freelance writer in the Fort Wayne and Auburn area. She is the Art Specialist at Oak Farm Montessori School and serves as an arts advocate as chair of the Education Committee for Wunderkammer Company. Miller’s works incorporate textures found on organic objects, such as seedpods, fungus, mineral deposits, and plants. Her works push the limits of common materials and seem to defy gravity. Her large hanging pod piece encourages visitors to place their head inside the center. This interaction can be meaningful and can bring people together in a positive way. Miller also hides tiny human forms in each of her pieces.  Look closely and you may find one!
