September brings the FORT WAYNE PHOTOGRAPHERS CLUB, in existence for over 70 years, to the Garrett Museum of Art. The club’s purpose is to learn, improve, and enjoy the art of photography. The group is diverse and they are nature photographers, street photographers, they capture landscapes, take portraits, and shoot sports in action. Their members have received local and national recognition for their work. The club encourages new members who want to learn and hone their skills along with guidance and mentorship through their experienced members. The members’ exploration of various techniques and styles will be evident in their exhibit at GMoA which will showcase 25 photographs.

In the upstairs gallery at the museum, Jim Gabbard, Angela Green, and Kasey Wallace, all museum staff, will display their photos in their show, IMAGES AND SENTIMENT. Viewers will see a variety of techniques and styles of composition from all three, including photos paired with their original writings.

In the Spotlight Gallery on floor one, the museum is featuring Natalee Wright, a native of Columbia City, Indiana, and an eclectic and intuitive artist. Her art speaks to the human experience and all of its eccentricities. Her art forges connections to those who have experienced grief, healing, and growth in the wake of struggle and pain, and encourages people to focus on their resilience, growth, and healing. Wright is passionate about inspiring others, and through the art she creates, she hopes viewers will be encouraged to embrace the vulnerability in themselves and find strength through understanding and acceptance. Natalee’s work has been featured in numerous juried group exhibitions, solo exhibitions, and publications, including a showcase in Times Square. In addition to her artistic pursuits, Natalee is a board-certified life coach, a disabled veteran, an adjunct psychology professor, and a behavior specialist who supports individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in living their best lives.
