Join us at the Garrett Museum of Art, located at 100 S. Randolph Street in Garrett, on Friday, March 6, 2026 from 5:00PM – 8:00PM to celebrate the opening of our next exhibition, MITCH WIEBELL: KLEINFUNDE.

As always, the show is open to the public and all ages are welcome.

Admission is FREE.

The show runs from March 6, 2026 through May 3, 2026.

The Garrett Museum of Art will showcase Kleinfunde, the work of professional commercial photographer, Mitch Wiebell (Day Heights, Ohio), with a free Opening Reception on Friday, March 6, 2026 from 5:00PM – 8:00PM.

The exhibit is best described by Wiebell when he tells about its inception:

Please note that other than the images you will see at the museum, and photos used for promotional purposes at art galleries / festivals, the photographs represented in the Kleinfunde series do not exist on any social media platform and they do not exist on a website representing Mitch Wiebell and the Kleinfunde series. It is important to be aware that to display the photographs on the web would contradict the purpose of the series which is to encourage people to step away from their phone / tablet / computer and get out and explore the fragility of nature — even if in a gallery setting.

This is to entice visitors to attend Wiebell’s remarkable exhibit in order to enter another world that reminds us that beauty and peace exist for small creatures — even in death — just as it does for us.

Mitch Wiebell graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Visual Communication from the Art Academy of Cincinnati in 1991. His emphasis was on Photography but he also studied Fine Art and Graphic Design.

He has specialized in photography related to packaging, catalog, direct email, and social media. His clients have included Boone County Distilleries, Grandin Road, Scott’s Miracle Gro, Hugo Boss, Puma, Kroger, Tommy Hilfiger, and many more.

Wiebell’s homebase is Skynotch Acres, his horse farm near Cincinnati, Ohio. The Kleinfunde series was conceived in his home studio aptly named Skynotch Studios. His photography for this exhibit took place in Skynotch Studios and the woods surrounding the studio, which happens to be where all of the subjects seen in Kleinfunde were discovered.
