What happens when a poetry reading becomes a circle anyone can join?

In collaboration with the Poetz Portal Kollektiv, we invite you to spend Sunday, October 11, 2026 with us at the Garrett Museum of Art for an afternoon of music, art, and shared words inspired by women and the feminine.

🎻 1:00PM–2:00PM | The Prelude

Marcy and Michael Trentacosti of the Fort Wayne Philharmonic will perform beautiful classical and Disney music on violin and bassoon. Explore our incredible annual exhibition, Women Take the Walls, while you listen.

📖 2:30PM–4:00PM | The Circle

All six founding members of Fort Wayne’s Poetz Portal Kollektiv—Breanna C. Johnson, Riley McPheeters, Jessica Sorya, Kètu Oladuwa, Bryan Utesch, and TehilaYah Ysrael—will join us for a welcoming poetry circle. Bring a poem to read or share aloud if you’d like, or simply come to listen. Whatever feels right to share is welcome!

Poetz Portal Kollektiv, rooted in Fort Wayne, Indiana brings poets together to explore how words can liberate the mind and cultivate sacred spaces for connection, presence, and creative expression. Through readings, workshops, and collaborative gatherings, they welcome individual voices into a shared space, allowing the words to move beyond the page and inspire one another.
