This year marks the second year that an exhibit featuring student artwork has been shown at the Garrett Museum of Art. Selected by art educators from five area high schools, students were chosen to exhibit works of art in all media. This observance provides an opportunity for students in grades 9 – 12, who have thrived in the visual arts, to have their work exhibited in a museum setting.
This exhibit focuses on the lasting importance that comes from the processes students experience and the thinking skills they learn. It explores self and visual awareness, as well as an appreciation of individual differences. Each piece is unique and visitors will be able to see the lasting importance that comes from the processes students utilize when participating in the arts curriculum.
Please join us at the Garrett Museum of Art, located at 100 S. Randolph Street in Garrett, on Friday, May 17, 2019, from 6PM – 8PM to celebrate the opening of this exhibition. Schools participating are Garrett, DeKalb, Lakewood Park, Carroll, and Concordia.
The Opening Reception is free, open to the public, and all ages are welcome. The show will run from May 17, 2019 through June 23, 2019.
This show is generously sponsored by Judy A. Morrill.
Light refreshments are provided by Garrett Tri Kappa Associates.
