Fred Wooley, caretaker of the property Wing Haven from 1984-2001, will give an inspiring and educational presentation about Helen Swenson and her remarkable story. Helen is the ๐‹๐ž๐ ๐š๐œ๐ฒ ๐€๐ซ๐ญ๐ข๐ฌ๐ญ in this inaugural year of ๐–๐จ๐ฆ๐ž๐ง ๐“๐š๐ค๐ž ๐ญ๐ก๐ž ๐–๐š๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ฌ at GMoA.

Helen Swenson, naturalist and artist, managed the Potawatomi Inn, with her husband Ben from 1936-1948. They eventually opened a delightful resort on Seven Sisters Lakes and called it Wing Haven. See many beautiful examples of Helenโ€™s illustrations and her watercolors in our exhibit honoring her as a woman artist who resided right here in Indiana.

Fred’s presentation will take place at the museum on ๐’๐š๐ญ๐ฎ๐ซ๐๐š๐ฒ, ๐€๐ฎ๐ ๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ญ ๐Ÿ“๐ญ๐ก ๐Ÿ๐ซ๐จ๐ฆ ๐Ÿ‘๐ฉ๐ฆ – ๐Ÿ’๐ฉ๐ฆ.
