Fred Wooley, caretaker of the property Wing Haven from 1984-2001, will give an inspiring and educational presentation about Helen Swenson and her remarkable story. Helen is the ๐๐๐ ๐๐๐ฒ ๐๐ซ๐ญ๐ข๐ฌ๐ญ in this inaugural year of ๐๐จ๐ฆ๐๐ง ๐๐๐ค๐ ๐ญ๐ก๐ ๐๐๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ฌ at GMoA.
Helen Swenson, naturalist and artist, managed the Potawatomi Inn, with her husband Ben from 1936-1948. They eventually opened a delightful resort on Seven Sisters Lakes and called it Wing Haven. See many beautiful examples of Helenโs illustrations and her watercolors in our exhibit honoring her as a woman artist who resided right here in Indiana.
Fred’s presentation will take place at the museum on ๐๐๐ญ๐ฎ๐ซ๐๐๐ฒ, ๐๐ฎ๐ ๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ญ ๐๐ญ๐ก ๐๐ซ๐จ๐ฆ ๐๐ฉ๐ฆ – ๐๐ฉ๐ฆ.
